I haven't had success with the water marble technique, yet. So, here's a
marbling technique from Robin Moses that you can do without water. First, paint on your first coat and let it dry. Paint on your second coat rather thick, and while it's still wet, dab on small dots of your contrast colors. With your striping brush, sweep through the dots of polish in a swirl pattern. The fewer strokes the better, here -- too much swirling action and the color turns to mud. Finally, after you swirl, pull the polish off of the sides of the nail with your thumb. This takes the excess polish off your nail so that it will dry evenly.
